Context

Collaborated on the hardware development phase of a UAV Autopilot System for India's national military R&D agency, operating under strict defense-grade reliability standards.

Research

Evaluated and mapped hardware component selections, strategically integrating Inertial Measurement Units (IMUs) and power regulators to secure stable data acquisition loops. Deployed Verilog-based PID control loops and Kalman filtering onto a SmartFusion 2 SoC microcontroller, while configuring secure SPI and UART serial communication interfaces.

Outcome

Designed multi-layer PCB layouts using Cadence OrCAD and Siemens PADS, successfully generating manufacturing-ready Gerber files with integrated Watchdog hardware fault tolerance.
